Mt. Kisco, NY - (June 30, 2010) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) recently hosted its First Annual Jane H. Beusman Children's Fund Celebration at Saw Mill Club, Mount Kisco. More than 200 people attended the event, which raised $175,000 to help support tuition assistance for MKCCC families in need. The Beusman family has matched all donations, increasing the proceeds to support tuition assistance, teacher development and educational materials.

John Hatheway of New Hampshire, winner of the $10,000 raffle, has committed to donating a portion of his winnings back to the Children's Fund.

"We are so pleased that the community came out to support the Fund in Jane's memory. We also enjoyed showing our award-winning video, Meet Amelia, and introducing 4-year-old Amelia and her mother Sharon Puera to our guests," said Dottie Jordan, MKCCC's executive director.

The event honored the Junior League of Northern Westchester (JNLW). Mt. Kisco's Mayor Michael Cindrich and his wife Linda presented a Proclamation to Jennifer Bancroft, JLNW president, for the organization's ongoing support, time and financial contributions to MKCCC.

Stephen Paletta, philanthropist and winner of Oprah's Big Give, served as Master of Ceremonies.

Since 2002, Jane H. and Curtis Beusman have supported MKCCC by providing financial assistance and by serving on the Board of Directors. Jane was both remembered and honored by the formal establishment of The Jane H. Beusman Children's Fund. The Fund will provide tuition assistance to working families in need. Half of the children who receive care at the Center receive scholarships, because their families cannot afford full tuition. The Children's Fund helps bridge the gap.
